I think they use https://www.itreetools.org for some of their figures and convert into something to fit their tags. I tried it on my tree that is still quite young and got that it would save 36.18 kWh electricity per year (although of course next year the tree will be have grown some more). I might go out and measure the big tree on next door's verge tomorrow to see what it says.
Of course all these stats and formulas are estimates and meant for guidance.
Tree name tags. I like it and I like the initiative of enhancing the value of trees. In a way it’s a bit sad that trees need this boost to their PR.
Yes it is sad people don’t appreciate their trees. Especially the ones who think they need to dress them up in fairy lights to make them attractive.
