How do we decide which events and which initiatives to do?

Being clear about the group’s shared purpose is essential when evaluating initiatives. See more here

At the start of a project, or at a periodic planning meeting, you’ll have a mix of ideas for new initiatives, external opportunities (eg awareness days, offers of facilities), external obligations, and activities from the previous year to continue or build upon.

Out of all the possibilities, some will take you towards that shared purpose more than others.

You need to choose which are doable, which might be doable down the track, and which could be more trouble than they are worth.
